Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Pro Soccer, the organization aiming to bring a USL Championship team to Buffalo in 2026, has launched a survey to get residents' thoughts on a future soccer stadium.
The survey asks fans to give feedback on a number of things related to a new soccer stadium like location, seat location, amenities, and pricing.
"We need to know exactly what the people who are interested in this club, in this stadium, and in this city want," said Peter Marlette Jr., President of Buffalo Pro Soccer.
The organization hired CSL International, which has worked on the new Highmark Stadium for the Buffalo Bills, to create this survey. The survey is designed to collect a broad range of opinions that will directly influence the stadium’s design.
"Soccer stadiums can be built successfully in a bunch of different ways," Marlette said. "There are plenty of USL and major stadiums around the world that are as bare bones as it gets, and if that's what Buffalo is asking for we can do that, but we're seeing what the Bills are doing with their new stadium and we're seeing what the... fan is looking for and we're just trying to figure out what features of that game experience Buffalo is interested in now."
Marlette told WBEN last month the former Buffalo News site near the HSBC Atrium downtown is one "finalist" site for the stadium, and the owners of other sites are aware that the team is waiting on the survey results before finalizing a location.
The survey will be open through Oct. 7. Marlette will also be hosting another town hall on Oct. 3 at The Banshee Irish Pub from 5:30 p.m.-to-7:30 p.m. ET.
