BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN)....."Good Morning America's" Rhiannon Ally hails from Kansas City...yes, THAT..Kansas City, yet you now count her as one of Buffalo's new goodwill ambassador.
Ally was in Buffalo Friday morning for a series of live shots with Buffalo Sabres' fans inside KeyBankCenter. For Ally, it was her first ever trip to Buffalo.
"This is a really cool city," Ally said. "Everyone here is so nice, so kind and so energetic."
Coming from Kansas City, Ally said both Buffalo and KC have the same midwestern vibe and passionate fan bases.
That is especially true when it comes to backing the (Kansas City) Chiefs and Royals and for the Sabres and Buffalo Bills.
"It is very collegiate," Ally said.
Ally worked for TV stations in her native Kansas City and Miami before joining ABC News five years ago, starting as a correspondent before co-anchoring World News Now and Good Morning America: First Look
Good Morning America sent Ally to Buffalo to preview Friday's Sabres playoff game against the Montreal Canadiens on TNT.
Sunday and Tuesday's games are on ESPN, an ABC affiliate.
After finishing her Good Morning America shots, Ally was headed to Niagara Falls for her first ever visit and then going for some wings before leaving Buffalo Friday afternoon.
And, yes, Ally said she hopes to return.
"The level of kindness I've felt here is amazing," Ally said.
