Buffalo State University student accused of posting school threat on social media

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo police arrested 19-year-old Kevin Thompson on Sunday after a threatening post he's accused of making that was flagged by Meta, the parent company of Facebook.

The post was reported to law enforcement by the social media company on Saturday.

During a search of a home on the 100 block of Downing Street, police discovered a Stoeger P3000 shotgun.

Thompson is charged with the misdemeanor crime of Making a Threat of Mass Harm.

Police are urging anyone who witnesses suspicious activity to call or text the confidential tipline at (716)-847-2255.
