Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A teenager has been charged after Buffalo Police investigated a threat to a school on social media. A man was also charged with criminal possession of a firearm following a search of the home.
Buffalo Police was notified by TikTok of a user making a school threat online. That prompted an investigation, leading officers to a Mariner Homes apartment in the City of Buffalo.
A Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order (TERPO) with a search provision was obtained by officials. During the court authorized search, a Glock 19 was recovered.
A 15-year-old is charged with making a threat of mass harm, which is a misdemeanor charge. Meanwhile, 33-year-old Yaireliz Santana Garcia has been charged with criminal possession of a firearm.
