Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Sabres have made a bold move in advance of Friday's NHL Draft.

Defenseman Bowen Byram and winger Jordan Greenway are heading to the Chicago Blackhawks in a trade that sees Buffalo acquiring a package that includes the fourth overall pick in the first round of the draft, a second-round pick (45th overall) in the 2026 NHL Draft and defenseman Louis Crevier.


Crevier scored 25 points in 78 games with Chicago this past season.

Byram was acquired in 2024 as part of a trade with the Colorado Avalanche. He scored 21 goals and 89 points during his time in Buffalo.

The 25-year-old is in the final year of his contract.

Greenway came to Buffalo as part of a trade deadline deal with the Minnesota Wild in 2023. He scored 46 points in his tenure in Buffalo.
