Catie Stephenson named BOPC executive director
Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy has named Catie Stephenson as its executive director following a nearly five-month nationwide search.

Stephenson has been with the Conservancy since 2017, most recently serving as chief development and communications officer.

Stephenson replaces Stephanie Crockatt, who left the Conservancy after nine years for a position in Sarasota, Florida.

"We could not be more pleased that our thorough nationwide search led us back to the excellence of our own offices," said Conservancy board chair Bart Kresse in a statement released this morning.

Stephenson graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 with a B.A. in political science and American history. In 2018 she earned a certificate in non-profit management from the Harvard Business School.

"Having previously collaborated with Catie during her tenure at the Conservancy, we have confidence in her abilities and are pleased with her appointment as executive director." says Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.

Stephenson will take over as executive director on Jan. 2, 2024.
