Child shot during domestic dispute in Buffalo

Police say the child was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Golisano Children's Hospital

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A child was shot during a domestic dispute at an apartment complex on Hager Street in Buffalo on Tuesday night.

Police responded to the first block of Hager Street a little after 10:15 p.m. and found the child with a gunshot wound to their shoulder.


The child was taken to Golisano Children's Hospital of Buffalo to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gun Violence Detectives began an investigation and found that a domestic dispute in the building's second floor apartment led to a scuffle over a gun. The gun was fired, went through the floor into the first floor apartment where it hit the child.

An adult male involved in the fight was grazed in the foot. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center.

Buffalo Police say with help from US Marshals, an arrest was made.

An investigation is ongoing.
