Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - Keep the tissues handy.
There's one more Highmark stadium special in the making and this one is on a national stage. ESPN is currently producing a special called, "Where Else Would You Rather Be?"
Longtime ESPN sportscaster Chris Berman, who has been one of the Buffalo Bills' biggest boosters for decades, is narrating the documentary. He joined WBEN on Tuesday.
What made Highmark Stadium special to him?
"When I would drive up and see those seats up in the corner, where there's no protection from the wind. I was thinking that people sat there every game, whatever the weather. How did they do it? You don't see that at stadiums anymore," said Berman. "If you look down, you'll get vertigo. Those people deserve a special citation by the way."
Berman called "The Ralph" unique, and put it in the same category as Lambeau Field in Green Bay and Soldier Field in Chicago. He adds they would not build a new stadium like it anymore with one tunnel for both teams.
We couldn't let "The Swami" go without asking him for a playoff prediction.
"Well the [Jacksonville Jaguars] are, for the nation, like the Bills when they got good in '88, or the first year that Josh [Allen] made the playoffs," Berman acknowledged about this weekend's AFC Wild Card Round matchup.
But here's his Super Bowl prediction; Bills and Seahawks!
Berman called the ESPN special "Where Else Would You Rather Be?" a labor of love.
Producer Jennifer Chafitz said it will be posted to YouTube sometime Thursday or Friday of this week. After that, at a date to be determined, it will be shown on ESPN TV.
