Akron, N.Y. (WBEN) Newstead firefighters were called to Arrowhead Golf Course on Clarence Center Road at 10:38 a.m. Saturday for reports of smoke and flames coming from the rear of The Sterling at Arrowhead Golf Club.
People were evacuating the building as firefighters arrived, and a second alarm was called to bring in additional manpower.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office said the fire was caused by improper disposal of a cigarette. Damage is estimated at $1.5 million.
No one was injured.
