CLARENCE, N.Y. (WBEN)......Thanks to a just-closed deal, Clarence has tied Orchard Park as the top communities in Erie County to have $1 million-plus residential real estate transactions.
Clarence and Orchard Park both have 18 recorded $1 million-plus deals this year, according to data from the Erie County Clerk's office.
Last year, when Erie County recorded 105 home sales that topped the $1 million-plus mark Clarence led the way with 30 such transactions.
Orchard Park, last year, had 17 home sales that exceeded the $1 million-plus threshold.
In the latest deal, a four-bedroom house at 9720 Silver Birch Court in Clarence's Spaulding Green subdivision sold for $1.725 million.
Built in 2015, the house has 5,200-square-feet.
Through July 7, there has been 52 homes in Erie County that have sold for more than $1 million.
Erie County is pacing with $1 million-plus home sales being closed and recorded once every 4 days.
The county is pacing on seeing as many as 90 homes, this year, sell for north of $1 million.
Within the region's residential real estate industry, the sale of a house going for beyond the $1 million mark is considered a key economic indicator.
