Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Executives at CompassCare say they are pleased with the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade. They say the ruling could put pro-life pregnancy centers like CompassCare on a level playing field with abortion clinics.

James Harden with CompassCare says the decision was fantastic.

"I couldn't be happier. This was a reversal of a systemic injustice," says Harden.

He says it's the job of government to protect all people without partiality from the womb to the tomb. He says the Supreme Court did the right thing by sending the debate back to the states.

Harden acknowledges the ruling doesn't ban abortion. He cites Gov. Kathy Hochul saying New York State will allow for legal and safe abortions.

"She is anticipating abortion tourism, and she is planning on using taxpayer funds to fund the travel expenses and the abortion services of women who come here from conservative states to get their abortions," says Harden.

However, he notes hundreds of abortion appointments are being canceled as a result of the ruling, and that changes things for abortion providers.

"I think places like ours, CompassCare, medical offices across the state are going to be receiving an influx of patients from more conservative states as well," says Harden.

Harden projects as much as a 30% increase as a result of the ruling.

"We've got for the first time in the history of abortion, pro life organizations like CompassCare have an opportunity to compete head on on a level playing field with the abortion industry," notes Harden.

He adds his offices are trying to reach and serve women through telehealth before they travel so they can get a second opinion.

Harden says police and FBI continue to investigate the firebombing earlier this month.

"We have not received any word of arrests," says Harden.

He remains hopeful an arrest will be made soon. Jane's Revenge, a pro-abortion group, claimed responsibility.
