Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Congressman Brian Higgins is renewing his call to put an end to restrictions for crossing the US - Canada border which include random Covid testing for those who are vaccinated and submission of information through the ArriveCAN app or website within 72 hours of travel.
"The ArriveCAN app and other restrictions continue to be a barrier to the free flow of people across the northern border," Higgins said in a statement.
The Congressman added that he still regularly receives calls from Western New Yorkers frustrated and confused by the technology and requirements for crossing between the US and Canada.
The Canadian government recently announced an end to the vaccination requirement to board a plane or a train in Canada, but that does not apply to those crossing land borders. The government is supposed to review the requirements and give an update by June 30.
