Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Police has announced the arrest of a Buffalo man this past Thursday following threats made to a commercial store.
Police were made aware of threats to a store by a man who referenced an AK-47, which then immediately triggered an investigation by the Threat Management Unit.
Detectives from the Behavioral Health Team and Threat Management Unit obtained a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order (TERPO) with a search provision signed by the Honorable Judge John Licata.
TMU, BHT, and Buffalo Police SWAT team then conducted the search on the 600 block of Fargo Avenue, recovering a loaded, sawed-off Ithaca Deerslayer 12 gauge shotgun in the process.
Luis Guevara, 48, of Buffalo was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class "C" felony).
Guevara is already a convicted felon that is not permitted by law to be in possession of a weapon.
