Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - A court ruling has opened the door for two Chippewa bars to resume 18 and over events.

A temporary restraining order issued this week allows for Bottoms Up and VENU to resume hosting weekly College Nights and co-mingling events that allowed for people 18 and older to be inside the nightclubs. The events had been held for over a decade at the two businesses before the City barred any 18 and over events earlier this year.

Whether the two bars will do so remains to be seen.

"We kind of just want to wait and see what happens with everything," said Bottoms Up and VENU manager Tim Walton. "The ruling is great, but it doesn't really change much in the short term. We're looking to get a final ruling and hope it comes out in our favor so we can keep going."

The two bars sued the City of Buffalo last week, arguing their decision to crack down on their businesses is unjustified, and threatens their ability to operate.
