(WBEN) - New York State's Assembly Judiciary Committee announced Monday they will be sharing a final report on their investigation into Governor Cuomo.

The Assembly late last week had announced that they will not go forward with impeachment after Cuomo announced he would resign from office. After public pressure, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie released a statement Monday saying that the investigation would continue, and a report made public that looks into not only the allegations of sexual misconduct, but also the Governor's memoir and handling of nursing home data.

"The purpose of impeachment is to remove somebody from office, so there's really a limited ability for us to hold him accountable if he's gone," said Assemblywoman Monica Wallace, who serves on the Judiciary Committee. "I do think the Governor should be held accountable. I think at this point that accountability is through a public report of exactly what we found, in addition to the fact that we are going to be turning that information over to the authorities who have the ability to hold the Governor accountable beyond just removal from office."

Neither Wallace or Heastie gave any timeframe on when the report would be publicly available.
