Cuomo to NY: no more excuses

All New Yorkers 16+ can get COVID19 vaccines

Vaccine

New York, NY (WBEN) — Governor Cuomo tells New Yorkers no more excuses when it comes to getting the flu vaccine. This as all New Yorkers can get the vaccine starting today.

"Now that all New Yorkers are eligible to receive the vaccine, it is critical that no one is left behind in our efforts to get New York vaccinated," Governor Cuomo said. "For over a year, New Yorkers have sacrificed and dedicated themselves to slowing the spread of COVID-19. The light at the end of the tunnel has never been brighter and I encourage all New Yorkers to do the right thing and protect themselves and their communities by getting their vaccine. We are still in a footrace against the infection rate, but with millions more now eligible to get their vaccine we can finally win this war."

Gov. Cuomo Makes an Announcement

Posted by Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday, April 6, 2021

Cuomo's "Vaccinate NY" announcement follows the "Roll Up Your Sleeves" campaign announcement encouraging all New Yorkers 16 and older to schedule their vaccine appointments, with an emphasis on the communities that were hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Cuomo says New Yorkers are encouraged to remain patient and are advised not to show up at vaccination sites without an appointment. As of right now, people 16 and 17 years of age can only receive the Pfizer vaccine.

You can schedule an appointment at a state-run mass vaccination site on the 'Am I Eligible' website or by calling 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829). You can also call your local health department, pharmacy, doctor, or hospital for additional information and to schedule appointments where vaccines are available.
