Dahlin added to Sabres COVID19 protocol list

Nine players now on list

Rasmus Dahlin

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The Buffalo Sabres say Rasmus Dahlin has been added to the COVID19 protocol list. That brings the total number of players on the list to nine.

Currently, eight other Sabres players - forwards Taylor Hall, Tobias Rieder, Dylan Cozens, Curtis Lazar and Casey Mittelstadt, and defensemen Rasmus Ristolainen, Brandon Montour and Jake McCabe - as well as head coach Ralph Krueger are in protocol.

Buffalo's practice facilities were closed indefinitely last Tuesday, and the NHL postponed four Sabres games as a result of Taylor Hall and Rasmus Ristolainen entering the NHL's COVID Protocols.

Throughout the 2020-21 season, the NHL is sharing the names of players who are "unavailable" to teams due to COVID protocols. This list is updated daily by the NHL.

These "COVID Protocol Related Absences" can be the result of a number of factors including, among others:
(1) an initial positive test which remains unconfirmed until confirmatory testing is completed pursuant to the Positive Test Protocol;
(2) mandated isolation for symptomatic individuals pursuant to the Positive Test Protocol;
(3) required quarantine as a high-risk close contact in accordance with the Positive Test Protocol;
(4) isolation based on a confirmed positive test result and/or;
(5) quarantine for travel or other reasons as outlined in the COVID-19 Protocol.

No additional detail will be provided either by the League or the team, including the precise reason a player is unavailable or how long he might be out.

Coach Ralph Krueger has also tested positive for COVID
