Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - The US Small Business Administration is expanding its outreach in Buffalo to assist people with uninsured and under-insured losses from the Christmas Blizzard.
The Disaster Loan Outreach Center at the Delavan Grider Community Center on 877 East Delavan Ave. in Buffalo will remain open until May 12.
"This is in addition to what insurance may not cover," said Jim Accurso with the SBA. "It's for damages related to the storm that they may just be finding now as the weather is getting nice."
Businesses of all sizes, non-profit organizations, homeowners, and renters in Erie, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Niagara and Wyoming Counties who were impacted by the storm are all eligible to apply for the federal disaster loan program.
Interest rates are as low as 3.305 percent for businesses, 2.375 percent for nonprofit organizations, and 2.313 percent for homeowners and renters, with terms up to 30 years. Loan amounts and terms are set by the SBA and are based on each applicant's financial condition. As of April 26, the SBA has approved $11,415,800 for 377 loans for residents and businesses.
Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application through the SBA's secure website at DisasterLoanAssistance.sba.gov/ela/s and should apply under SBA declaration # 17794.
