Lackawanna, N.Y. (WBEN) - The State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) recently helped Lackawanna Police corral a boa constrictor found in a vacant home.
At around midnight on Aug. 2, the DEC says ECO Damrath received a call from Lackawanna Police seeking assistance with a large, unknown species of snake reportedly found by an individual in a vacant house.
Damrath arrived at the location a short time after receiving the call, and took possession of the reptile, identified as a boa constrictor.
The Officer then took the snake to an animal hospital for evaluation. A reptile rescue group will eventually find the boa constrictor a new home.
