LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WBEN) – Lockport Police are investigating a shooting near the Lockport School District.
The shooting happened around midday Monday near Walnut Street and Erie Street.
Lockport Schools went into lockdown during the incident.
Lockport Schools issued an emergency dismissal plan. "All buildings will dismiss at the normal time. Busses will run on a normal schedule and you encourage to pick up your child at the bus stop. As a precautionary measure, walkers must be picked up by a parent. Students will remain in the building until a parent arrives to pick them up," says the district.
Congressional candidate Nate McMurray says he witnessed some of the shooting on his Twitter account.
I'm in Lockport. Two cars were just chasing each other on the street I'm standing right now!—shooting.

And of course, Cheyenne Fairwell was murdered in cold blood at a mass shooting here two days ago.
I am committed—and have been committed—to stopping gun violence.
Now.
Lockport Police say no one was injured in Monday's shooting.
