BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Eight days after Richard Malone resigned from the Diocese of Buffalo, the spokeswoman for the Diocese of Buffalo has also left.
Kathy Spangler, who took over the communications role for the Diocese in 2018, will "pursue other interests and opportunities" according to a statement released to the media.
"We are enormously grateful to Kathy for her many contributions and for her dedication to supporting the communications of the Diocese over these challenging months," a statement from Rev. Peter J. Karalus of the Diocese of Buffalo read. "We wish her much success in her future endeavors. A permanent replacement for the role of Director of Communications will be identified in due course."
Gregory Tucker was named the new spokesperson for the Diocese.
Spangler took over from the diocese after the August 2018 resignation of George Richert as spokesman. She could not be reached for an immediate comment.
