Downtown protesters fill Niagara Square

Protesters call on Cuomo to reopen NYS

Niagara Square Protes

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) About 100 protesters gathered in Niagara Square Wedneday to protest Governor Cuomo's restrictions because of COVID19. Some were in cars circling around Niagara Square.

One of the protesters was Sara, who is upset over what she calls fake news. "And all that bull... they're passing along. You don't hear nothing about Australia, Germany, and England, and all the terrible things going on," she says.

Another protester, Terry Vail, is tired of Cuomo. "We're tired of the shutdown, we're tired of shutting down churches," says Vail. "I want him to completely open the churches. It doesn't make any sense where you can fly on a plane, you can do a lot of things, but you can't go to church without a mask, you can't sing. He's violating our First Amendment by restricting our church attendance.

The protest was organized by Carl Paladino and Rus Thompson. Watch Thompson discuss the protest below.
