North Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - A car became trapped under the stop-arm of a railroad track at the intersection of Ward Road and River Road in the City of North Tonawanda on Tuesday.
According to the North Tonawanda Fire Department, shortly before 7:15 a.m., they were dispatched to the scene.
Once on scene, they reported a stopped train with a vehicle on the River Road side, under the stop arm. It was later reported that the train "clipped" the front end of the car.
There was only one occupant in the vehicle during the crash, who was later evaluated and transported to the hospital.
The intersection was blocked while emergency crews cleared the scene. Traffic has since been allowed to flow at that intersection once again.
