Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - When you're one of the top wing places in Buffalo, how do prepare for an influx of people for the biggest event the city has ever hosted?

"We're going full staff, everyday starting today," said Greg Duell owner of Duffs at the Eastern Hills Mall on WBEN on Friday.

Duell said he and his staff are planning to roll with the punches and make sure
that people get what they come for.

"They're coming for the best wings they've ever had," he said.

Just how many wings do they expect to serve?

"We're comparing it to a Bills game. When the Bills play, there's about
80 thousand people in the stadium. We would assume that 40 thousand are from out of town. So this will be like 20 Bills games in one."

Duell said the math looks like this. Any one of their locations might go through
50 to 70 cases of wings in two days when the Bills are in town. Multiply that
by their five locations. That's how he's tracking it.

On Monday, Duff's will be closing kitchens at about 3pm for about 30 minutes to allow staff to see the once in a lifetime event.

After the eclipse, Duell said people are going to be looking for food and a beer.

"We're going to slowly open back up. We're going to have a slow staggered seating, a couple tables at a time and that will set us up for success for the rest of the night."
