East Aurora, N.Y. (WBEN) - A magical holiday season continues this weekend in East Aurora with the 53rd annual Carolcade celebration on Main Street in front of Vidler's 5 & 10, Inc.

Carolcade, a beloved village tradition with thousands joining together to sing Christmas carols, takes place from 7 p.m.-to-8 p.m. on Saturday.

"When my dad first started it, it was a few girl scouts in the front of the store singing carols. It has morphed into 3,000 or 4,000 people in a sing-a-long outside the store," said Don Vidler, co-owner of Vidler's.

"It's a very Norman Rockwell, dare I say, 'Hallmark moment on Main Street."

Vidler admits this has been a special holiday season, due in part to the filming of the Hallmark movie, "Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story."

"The filming in June was an event in itself. When the movie came out and there was a premiere, it really was a special moment," he added.

He admitted that all of the attention is bringing people to Vidler's from near and far who saw the movie and wanted to check out the store. Unfortunately, he added, unlike the movie, they don't keep receipts in the store's attic
that date back decades.

Main Street will be closed to traffic from Olean Road to Elm Street. Carolcade begins at 7 p.m. and runs for one hour. The Salvation Army Brass Band provides the music. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be there.
