AMHERST, N.Y. (WBEN).....With the sale of two more houses - each going for north of the $1 million residential real estate benchmark - Erie County has notched 51 private residences, this year, that have sold for more than $1 million.
Erie County is now pacing for more than 90 homes - this year - to be sold above the $1 million threshold, a trend that has been escalating in recent weeks.
In the latest deals:
* A seven-bedroom house at 1005 Big Tree Road in the Town of Aurora sold for $12.75 million.
Sitting on eight acres of land, the 7,800-square-foot house was constructed in 1923.
Aurora has seen 5 homes sell for more than $1 million this year.
* On the other end of construction spectrum, a five-year patio home in Marrano Homes opulent Greythorne Community in Amherst sold for $1.1 million.
The two-bedroom, 2,300-square-foot house is located at 110 Brockton Ridge.
Amherst has seen 7 homes, this year, sell for more than $1 million.
The sale of homes going for above the $1 million threshold is considered a key economic benchmarrk within the region's residential real estate community.
Last year, Erie County set a record with 105 homes that sold for more than $1 million.
