ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WBEN).......With more than two months to go until the end of the year, Erie County has already notched 100 homes - this year - that have sold for more than $1 million.
Why does that matter?
The sale of homes going for north of the $1 million sales threshold is considered a key economic benchmark and bellwether within the region's residential real estate landscape.
Erie County is on pace to set a new record for $1 million-plus home sales topping the 105 that were recorded last year.
Erie County is trending towards seeing at least 110 homes, this year, sell for more than $1 million.
In the latest deals:
* A five-bedroom, 25pyear-old house at 17 Majestic View Court in Orchard Park sold for $1.9 million.
Sitting on a nearly two-acre lot, the 12,000-square-foot home comes with a four-car garage.
The sale marks the 26th home in Orchard Park, this year, to go for more than $1 million.
Last year, Orchard Park had 17 homes sell for more than $1 million.
* In Lancaster, a newly-built Forbes-Capretto Homes sold for $1,368,962 - making it the third house in Lancaster to sell for more than $1 million.
The five-bedroom house has 3,600-square-feet and a three-car garage.
Last year, Lancaster had just one house sell for more than $1 million.
