Orchard Park, NY (WBEN) As the Bills host Pittsburgh tonight at Highmark Stadium, one fan is giving his thoughts and advice on the new Highmark Stadium.
"I thought it was new and refreshing," says Paul Zakrzewski, who went to the Bills scrimmage a couple of weeks ago as his son had a wedding and gave his tickets to him. "I thought the openness of the corridors and just freshness of a new stadium, different vantage points, walking around from each level. Of course, I walked around each one to check it out, and he has his seats up in the 400 level in the corner, which in the old stadium would have been pretty far up there. He's like two rows from the top, and I was really impressed on the closeness to the field, no matter where you are,," says Zakrzewski. He says a lot of people are complaining about obstructive views, but he thinks it's far and few in between,.
He says even the sound system is new. " When you hear a band play, and it's live. It's no delay," says Zakrzewski. "You can walk around and you don't have to go too far to find food or bathrooms, and you have terraces at each level where you can see the field from that point. He was up in the 400 level, and we had points that we could stop along the way and see the field. I'm not sure how it'll work during a game, but they allow you to you know take different viewpoints as you're walking around. What also was cool is even the exterior, they have terraces that you could see the city of Buffalo skyline.."
What impressed him was the theme of vendors. "They have a local flair with the different neighborhoods, the different vendors. Like I'm from Kaisertown. They had a Kaisertown, you know, roast beef stand. It was North Park, all the different neighborhoods," says Zakzrewski.
Kickoff is at 7pm.
