Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Buffalo Police say a woman is dead after officers pursued the suspicious vehicle she was in overnight. Two others in the car are hospitalized.

Police say patrol officers began pursuing a suspicious vehicle at 3:45am near Sycamore Avenue and Fillmore Avenue. Police say at some point the vehicle crashed with another vehicle at Bailey Avenue and Doat Street.


Authorities say the vehicle was traveling south on Bailey Avenue, at an apparent high rate of speed, when it ran a red light and was t-boned by the other vehicle.

A female passenger in the vehicle was declared deceased at the scene. The male driver was transported to ECMC and is listed in critical condition. A female passenger in the back seat was also transported to ECMC to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The male driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police say a loaded 9mm handgun with 13 rounds was recovered in the suspicious vehicle.

The Buffalo police internal affairs division and the accident investigation unit are investigating the incident.
