Lancaster, NY (WBEN) Firefighters made quick work of a fire inside Miller Environmental Group in Lancaster Wednesday morning. There had been concern over oil stored inside the building.
Ron Rozler, Emergency Manager for Lancaster, says crews were alerted to the fire on Walden Avenue. "First crews arrived on location, and found heavy smoke in the garage area. They were able to located the fire in the dumpster in the building," says Rozler. He says the fire was knocked down relatively quickly.
Rozler says firefighters did not know what exactly was in the dumpster at the time. "We knew there were oily rags and some discarded absorbent material, but the personnel in the building helped us out with a list of what was in here," says Rozler. He says there are no hazmat concerns.
No one was injured. The cause remains under investigation.
