
Lockport, N.Y. (WBEN) - Firefighters battled a blaze for close to two hours at a plaza at the corner of Walnut and Washburn in Lockport Thursday night.
The City of Lockport Fire Department says the fire started just before 9 p.m. Two stores in the plaza, Jiffy Mart and Walnut St. Liquor were open when firefighters arrived and were cleared of staff and customers.
Firefighters searched the first floor of the plaza before finding the source of the fire in a storage room. Damage to the property is estimated at $60,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No firefighters were injured.
