Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Ford has agreed to pay $2.3 million to employees at the Buffalo Stamping Plant after finding workers there were discriminated against for their race and national origin.
After a claim was filed back in 2021, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission conducted an investigation, where they found graffiti in bathrooms, break rooms and other areas of the plant that targeted Black, Hispanic and Native American employees.
Ford will be required to post information explaining anti-graffiti protocols, conduct regular training at the plant, and report any complaints about graffiti or discrimination over the next three years to the Commission.
A Ford spokesperson says the company spent $3.5 million over the past several years upgrading security, and applying anti-graffiti coatings at the plant.
