BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN).....Delaware Avenue may be one of downtown's busiest roadways but, come this weekend, it will be transformed into a smorgasbord of food options.
That's because the annual Taste of Buffalo - now in its 43rd year - will run along Delaware Avenue between Chippewa Street and Niagara Square.
"We are gearing up," said Adam Roma, this year's Taste chairman.
Almost from the moment one Taste ends, planning begins for the next one. This year was no different, Roma said.
The Taste has secured 43 participating restaurants including 13 new ones such as Yankee Barbecue Smokehouse & Tavern, Hilbachi Fried Rice, Sangwich Mother and Smash & Roll.
Returning stalwarts include Fat Bob's, BW's Barbecue, Dirty Bird Chicken & Waffles, Just Pizza, Nick Charlap's Ice Cream and Sweet Melody's.
"We tried to bring in a diverse line-up," Roma said.
New to the event this year will be the Taste Marketplace where 17 Buffalo-themed vendors will ring the inside of Niagara Square.
And, there will also be a healthy dose of live entertainment and several beer gardens.
"It's all about bringing people downtown," Roma said.
The Taste of Buffalo, presented by Tops Markets, is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.,, Saturday July 11 and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 12.
