Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - Amherst Police, along with Hazmat teams from the Brighton and Clarence Fire Departments responded to a Motel 6 on Inn Keepers Lane in Amherst after reports of a noxious odor within the building Sunday night.
Amherst Police say no source of hazardous materials was found after a "thorough search" of the property.
The Town of Amherst Emergency Services Department is working to relocate anyone that had been staying at the motel.
Police say while the investigation is ongoing, there "does not appear to be any immediate concerns for the residents of the neighboring community."
Inn Keepers Lane was closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic while police investigated.
