Legends Global hopes to hire 500 workers for Highmark Stadium

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN)......There's a help wanted sign for new Highmark Stadium and it has nothing to do with the Buffalo Bills' wide receivers.

Instead, it is for a small army of workers needed by Legends Global to man more than 50 concession and retail outlets within the new, $2.2 billion home of the Buffalo Bills.

Nor, does it account for staff needed for luxury and club suites.

That's why Legends Global has scheduled a June 15 job fair as it hopes to hire as many as 500 people for its various stadium operations.

Jobs run the gamut from front line servers to back-of-the-house operations.

"Our job is to keep the fans happy," said Michael Reilly, Legends Global Highmark Stadium general manager.

And, Reilly said the job openings aren't just for game day operations.

Legends Global will be handling all non-game day events including special, private events booked for the stadium.

"You could turn this into a career," Reilly said.

For Legends Global, this is the first time the New York City-based firm has operated in the Buffalo Niagara region on such a large scale. They have been running the Bills Store on Abbott Road for the past three years.

But, this is different.

This is larger and Legends Global will be operating under a very powerful local microscope, Reilly conceded.

"We really enjoy the pressure that comes with running this building," Reilly said. "We are built for that."

To prep, Reilly and Legends Global's top culinary staff have scouted some of the region's best known and regarded restaurants.

"We've been to all the greatest hits," Reilly said.

As for finding 500 workers, Reilly is confident Legends Global will hit that benchmark.

"A lot of people have already reached out," Reilly said.

The job fair is set for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Kaleida Health Performance Center along One Bills Drive.
