Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - Here's comes Santa Claus!

The popular free Santa Land event is returning to Chestnut Ridge Park in Erie County Saturday for one day only 10am to 6pm. The event is coordinated in partnership between the Erie County Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and the Town of Orchard Park Recreation Department. WBEN is a proud and longtime sponsor of the event.

"It is a fun-filled day," said Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz as he announced the events' return this week.

Events include marshmallow roasting, wood branding, arts and crafts and games and the most popular of all, hay rides to visit with Santa Claus.

Winter sports won't be available at the park due to a lack of snow, which Poloncarz quipped is amazing as the park was in the bullseye of Snowvember 2.0 and under 6 plus feet of snow just a few short weeks ago.

"We do anticipate parking and traffic issues," said Parks Commissoner Troy Schinzel. Schinzel says updates on any traffic and parking restrictions will be on the parks social media accounts and visitors will be directed by staff.

Santa Land is also a designated drop-off site for the Toys for Tots campaign, and participants are encouraged to drop off a new, unwrapped toy.
