Hundreds of extras needed for new Christmas movie filming in Buffalo

One cable network is shooting a fun, family-friendly movie this month

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Film Casting is seeking extras for a new Christmas movie being filmed locally. The cable television network, Great American Family, is shooting "A Christmas Spark" from March 24 through April 11.

Frank Rossi, who was involved in the casting for the movie “Cabrini,” joined Tom Bauerle’s show Thursday afternoon to recruit extras for his latest project. The movie requires 200 extras.

Rossi says they are looking for school kids ages 6-13, as well as individuals to play firefighters and cadets, police officers, lawyers, and party-goers. Actors will be paid $216 for eight hours at the union rate for the first 25 people and $170 for right hours for non-union workers.

Rossi describes it as a fun, family film starring a well-known actor.
