Jessica Pegula advances after straight set win at Wimbledon

Pegula beats Krueger in first round 6-2, 6-0

London, England (WBEN) Jessica Pegula advanced to the second round of Wimbledon with a straight sets victory Tuesday, beating fellow American Ashlyn Krueger 6-2, 6-0 in less than an hour.

Pegula, daughter of Buffalo Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula, is currently the world's 5th ranked player.

She faces Wang Xinyu in the second round on Thursday.

Pegula has yet to reach the semi finals of a Grand Slam tournament.

In addition to singles, Pegula and partner Coco Gauff will compete in doubles at the All England Club.

Pegula was recently named to the U.S. Olympic team for the upcoming Paris Games.
