Josh Allen finishes No. 2 on NFL Top 100 list

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR/WBEN) - Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen still garners a great deal of respect from his peers around the National Football League, and it show on and off the field.

The NFL revealed on Thursday the final results of voting for the NFL Top 100 list, a ranking of the best players currently in the league that's voted on by the players, with Allen coming in at No. 2 overall behind only Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Myles Garrett.

Allen moves up one spot in the NFL Top 100 after finishing third in voting following an MVP season in 2024. The 30-year-old played, once again, in all 17 games for the Bills, completing 69.3% of his pass attempts for 3,683 yards and 25 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. He also added 579 rushing yards and another 14 rushing scores to the Buffalo offense.

Despite not winning NFL MVP in 2025, Allen was named a finalist for the annual honor for the fifth time in his NFL career and fourth year in-a-row. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford ended up earning that honor in his 17th NFL season.

Allen helped lead the Bills in 2025 to a 12-5 record, which wasn't good enough to win a sixth-straight AFC East title, but still enough to secure a playoff berth as a Wild Card team in the conference. Buffalo's season was cut short in the AFC Divisional Round against the Denver Broncos, but not before upsetting the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Wild Card Round the week before.

Entering his ninth season with the Bills in 2026, Allen did set a number of marks last season that rank him among some of the best quarterbacks in NFL history:

• Surpassed Cam Newton for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in league history.
• Became the youngest and fastest player to eclipse 300 regular season touchdowns.
• Surpassed Peyton Manning for the most total touchdowns by a player 30 years or younger.
• Became the first NFL player with multiple games registering three passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns.

Allen wasn't the only Bills players able to crack the NFL Top 100 list in 2026.

James Cook shot up the rankings in 2026 to 20th overall after another career-year in Buffalo. The running back managed to finish the season as the league's leading rusher with 1,621 yards on 309 carries, and finished with 12 touchdowns on the ground. He also added 291 yards on 33 receptions and another two touchdowns.

The 26-year-old jumped 69 spots on the Top 100 list from his spot in 2025.

The other Bills player to land on the NFL Top 100 this year is starting left tackle Dion Dawkins, who slotted in as the 57th-best player, dropping 15 spots from last year.
