Clarence, N.Y. (WBEN) - One year after being traded to the Buffalo Sabres, forward Josh Doan has literally found a home in the Buffalo Niagara region.
After a breakout season, Doan - earlier this year - signed a seven-year, $48.65 million contract with the Sabres that keeps him with the team through the 2032-2033 season.
And on July 20, Doan closed a deal to buy a Hillview Drive house in Clarence's Hidden Valley subdivison.
According to Erie County Clerk's Office records, Doan paid $2.75 million for the five-bedroom, nearly 4,000-square-foot eight-year-old house.
Doan's deal was one of three $1 million-plus residential real estate transactions to be recorded in the clerk's office on July 20.
The other residential real estate hat tricks were:
* A four-bedroom house at 40 Regents Park in Amherst sold for $1,050,000.
The 4,600-square-foot house was constructed in 2003.
* And, in Orchard Park, a five-bedroom house at 39 Edgewater Drive was acquired by a local couple, who paid $1.225 million.
Erie County has seen 58 homes sell for more than $1 million this year including 21 in Clarence and 20 in Orchard Park.
Amherst has had six homes sell for north of the $1 million benchmark.
Erie County is pacing with $1 million-plus homes selling once every 3.5 days and the county could see last year's record of 105 homes selling for above the $1 million threshold.
The sale of $1 million--plus homes is considered a key economic benchmark within the region's residential real estate industry.
