Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Yet another open becomes available Wednesday for those eligible and seeking the coveted COVID vaccine. as doors will swing open to the expansive Key Bank Center in downtown Buffalo.
The Lexus Club of the Key Bank Center will open up for a mass vaccination clinic starting Wednesday, where more than just seniors will be eligible to get the shot.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says the clinic will be open to those in groups 1A and 1B. "It's for comorbid and essential workers, not just seniors," says Poloncarz. "We realize based on our scheduling it made sense to make some switches. "
Poloncarz says appointments have already been booked for Wednesday. "We are working off the vaccine notice waiting list," explains Poloncarz. He says more than 20,000 people are on that waiting list, and the earliest among those who signed up will get first notices.
The news comes as the state announced those 60 and older would be eligible for the vaccine starting Wednesday. In one week, more essential workers also become eligible for the vaccine.
