Corfu, N.Y. (WBEN) - One of the largest North American Christian music festivals makes a return to Six Flags Darien Lake this week for three days of "faith, music and fun."
Festival representative David Bruno says that people from all over the U.S. and Canada come for the music. They have over 40 musical artists and speakers slated to perform from July 24-26.
LISTEN LIVE TO WBEN:
"We have folks come from Southern Ontario, Pennsylvania and beyond. I think the farthest someone who's traveling this year is from Germany, all the way to the festival. It definitely draws crowds from all over. We're expecting 25,000 to 30,000 guests over the course of the three days."
Festival goers can expect some of their favorite bands and artists making a return this year including some new artists. Matthew West, We Are Messengers, Skillet, Anne Wilson, Newsboys and Brothers McClurg are just some of the main headliners that will be taking Darien Lake's main stage this year.
There will be four stages to cater to all the music and events going on throughout the Darien Lake theme park this year. There are new exclusive events for those who are staying on the Darien Lake campgrounds, including bonfires, movies, late night teen events, and new for 2023, a special late-night worship session with Elevation Rhythm. Limited accommodations packages are still available. You can find the list of those events here.
Some stages will have a full list of speakers sharing messages throughout the theme park, you can find a schedule list here.
According to Bruno, the central theme for the festival this year is hope.
"Our team has really thought about it and this year, really, the idea of hope has been central to us. Obviously, that's something our world could use more of right now: hope. For us, that hope is found in Jesus Christ. But for everyone who attends, we want them to walk away inspired, encouraged, and hopefully filled with a little more hope than they had when they walked through the doors."
Tickets are still available at kingdombound.org. As always, tickets to the concert will also grant you access to the theme park. This year's Kingdom Bound is presented by Houghton University.
