Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Former Buffalo Schools Superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash may be out of a job, but he won't be going without a paycheck from the district.

As part of a resignation agreement reached between Cash and the board of education, WBEN has learned Cash will receive $299,995 in salary following his separation with the district Wednesday, March 2.

The agreement will also afford Cash with $11,959 in vacation pay as well as health care coverage through march of 2025.

Dr. Tonja Williams was introduced by the board Wednesday as the new interim superintendent of the district and she will have access to Cash as a consultant through the end of March at an additional cost of $5000.

Cash formally tendered his resignation Wednesday as the district has been navigating an extensive investigation and fallout following a stabbing and shooting incident in February at McKinley High School.
