Lackawanna, N.Y. (WBEN) - A fire at a home on Girard Avenue in the City of Lackawanna on Tuesday night has claimed the lives of a mother and her 4-year-old child, while hospitalizing two more of her children.
The first call in for the fire came at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, where firefighters were able to rescue a 5-year-old child from the roof and three others from an upstairs bedroom.
The mother, 28-year-old Felicia Toporek, and 4-year-old Audrey Zosowski both later died from their injuries.
Meanwhile, 5-year-old Ashlyn Zosowski and 1-month-old Vivian McConnachie remain hospitalized, though there is no update on their condition.
This fire remains under investigation.
