Less humid, comfortable weather expected through Labor Day

(AccuWeather/WBEN) - The holiday weekend will remain mostly dry and pleasant across Western New York, with temperatures in the mid-70s.

Labor Day is expected to be sunny, the beginning of several mainly dry days after a stretch of unsettled weather.

National Weather Service meteorologist Aaron Reynolds says the forecast will be comfortable for Western New York over the long holiday.

Across the country, the best chance for rain-free holiday weekend weather will be in the middle of the nation, where a heat dome is expected to dominate. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along its edges, stretching from the West to the Canadian border and across parts of the East.

For those traveling by road, rail or air, or staying home for the final official holiday weekend of summer, extreme heat may not be limited to the traditional desert regions. The heat dome is expected to focus on the central and southern Plains and the Mississippi Valley, where temperatures could rise well above average during much of the holiday weekend.

Overall, Western New York is expected to avoid the worst of the heat, with lower humidity, comfortable temperatures and mostly dry conditions through Labor Day.
