Lockport, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Lockport man has been charged with raping a young child he was babysitting last year. Niagara County Sheriff's deputies arrested 24-year-old Luke Smeal on Friday.
Smeal is charged with two counts of first-degree felony rape, as well as first-degree felony sexual abuse and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
Deputies say the alleged rape happened in 2025 in Middleport.
Smeal is being held pending arraignment.
