Lockport man charged for driving drunk with 9-year-old in vehicle

Lockport, N.Y. (WBEN) - A 39-year-old Lockport man was arrested Thursday night for driving while drunk with a 9-year-old in his car.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says Jonathan Reid was pulled over on Lincoln Avenue in Lockport around 9:10 p.m. Deputies found signs of intoxication during the traffic stop and discovered the child passenger.

Reid was given a breath test and registered a Blood Alcohol Content level of .12%.

Reid has been charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated – Leandra’s Law (a felony), Operating a Motor Vehicle above .08% B.A.C., Driving While Intoxicated and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The child was turned over to family. Reid was remanded to the Niagara County Correctional Facility.
