Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Timing is everything and Mother Nature had other plans Tuesday as Operation Centennial Contact passed ove rthe Buffalo-Niagara region in two consecutive midday flyovers.
The 914th Air Refueling Wing teamed up with the 305th Air Mobility Wing and Air Mobility Command to celebrate 100 years of aerial refueling with a formation flyover across the state for #operationcentennialcontact.
The 914th's KC135 Stratotanker was in the first formation.
The timetable for the flyovers was delayed due to weather conditions and there was a smattering of sightings being reported on social media.
After flying over Buffalo and Niagara County, the formations went east toward Rochester and Syracuse.
