Niagara Falls, NY (WBEN) - It's feeling a bit more like summer in Niagara Falls as the Maid of the Mist launched their first trip of the season on Friday.
It's about a week earlier than the boat's usual start date in early May. This will be the Maid of the Mist’s 141st season, continuing its place as one of the longest continuously running tourist attractions in North America.
That doesn't mean it's stayed the same. New this year is an online tool where people can see how long the lines are likely to be on any given day and time.
"We actually launched a wait time calendar so people can plan their visits based on last year's and historical ticket sales," said Maid of the Mist Captain Joe Curtis. "If you're planning to come on Noon at the Fourth of July you can see what the ticket sales were last year or if you want to come on an off day you can plan your trip better."
For America's 250th Birthday, specially designed logos and decals will be featured on the exterior of the all-electric e-boats.
This season runs through Sunday, November 8.
