Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo man faces 15 years in prison after admitting to stealing a Buffalo fire truck.

26-year-old Yassin A. Abdikadir pleaded guilty to grand larceny in connection with the incident in the evening hours of July 14h. Prosecutors say he stole a Buffalo Fire truck as firefighters were responding to an emergency medical services call at Main and West Huron streets. The abandoned fire truck was found on Delaware Avenue and Allen Street.

Abdikadir hit three parked vehicles with the truck, damaging all three vehicles.
Shortly after abandoning the fire truck, police found him hiding inside of a garbage tote.

Abdikadir has another pending criminal case for allegedly burglarizing a downtown restaurant. Prosecutors say in the early hours of that same day, he entered a restaurant on the 200 block of Ellicott Street, breaking the lock of a storage cabinet to steal bottles of alcohol. Prosecutors say Abdikadir stole about 50 bottles of alcohol valued at approximately $2,000.

Abdikadir is scheduled to return on the burglary case before Buffalo City Court Judge Barbara Johnson-Lee, presiding judge of the Judicial Diversion Program, on Tuesday, February 21st.
